2012!

Mitt shouldn't have put the dog on the car roof all the way to Canada. This dedicated conservative will NEVER vote to put someone so irresponsible (and cruel) in charge of the country. I still can't believe he was so obtuse that he used the story to tout his skills to the Boston Globe.
Seamus's revenge...

Why would Mitt Romney use the story of his putting his dog on the car roof to tout his skills? That makes absolutely no sense.
As an animal rights advocate for over 10 years I was shocked and concerned over this story. I believe it happened in the early 80's and I don't think he'd do it again. We all make mistakes. My parents used to make our dogs stay outside all the time, in their dog house, but still! My dogs are treated like humans, so I think it was a different time and he's learned from it. I don't think he was intentionally being cruel or neglectful, I just think it was ignorance, even from someone like him, that you wouldn't expect it. Cut him some slack! The story of Gov. Huckabee's son, David is far more disturbing than the Romney car roof story. In 1998, Huckabee's 17 yr old son, along with another teenage boy, while employed with the BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, hung a stray dog in a tree, slit its throat and then STONED/BEAT IT TO DEATH claiming they were "putting it out of its misery!" Yeah, right. And Daddy Gov. Huckabee got the little serial killer in training off the hook without even being investigated, much less prosecuted. So much for the "good Christian" man that is supposed to be Gov. Huckabee! Animal lovers should be more upset over that story. I think Huckabee and his First Tomboy wife (seriously, that's her nickname in Ark. according to a Newsweek article) locked the little psycho up during the primaries -- not a peep out of him, except for a recent arrest at an airport when he tried to carry on a handgun! Romney isn't perfect, but damn near! ROMNEY IN 2012!!!
p.s. I was a girl scout and there wasn't a badge to be earned for torturing animals... The Boy Scouts promptly fired both of these evil little psycho's, to their credit.

"Write in Romney" should be an option in the poll. I know it has the same result as sitting it out, but it registers your dissatisfaction to the RNC (not that they care, but it makes you feel better).
I could vote for McCain if he picked Mitt as his running mate but it won't happen.

April:
Sorry, no slack for Mitt on the dog story. We're all learning to be better people and dog-owners; I still am. But nobody that irresponsible with another living creature should be president. When questioned about it, Romney claimed the dog loved it. He didn't regret it. He defended it. Explain that.
If it's any consolation, I wouldn't vote for a fraud like Huckabee either. I was for Thompson, but I've learned to deal with disappointment. I'll go with McCain--reluctantly. But no one will ever convince me that Romney's an authentic conservative, or that he deserves public office. NO to Mitt in 2012. YES to Petraeus (I hope).
